1. Call to Order and Roll Call

  • Chairman Tiffany King called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m.
  • A quorum was confirmed.
  • Board Members Present: Tiffany King; Virginia Harris; Barry Brafman; Michelle Dominique; Mayowa Ijagbemi; Shawna Shultz.
  • Board Members Absent: None.
  • City Staff Present:
    • Steve Gilbert, Director of Community Services and Building Safety
    • Ashley Martin, Community Services Coordinator
    • Samantha Harris, Deputy City Secretary

2. Citizen Comments

  • No citizens were present wishing to speak.

3. Approval of Minutes (January 2, 2024)

  • Chairman King moved to approve the minutes of the January 2, 2024 meeting.
  • Motion seconded by Board Member Ijagbemi.
  • Vote:
    • Ayes: King, Harris, Brafman, Dominique, Ijagbemi, Shultz
    • Nays: None
  • Motion carried unanimously.

4. Christmas Tree Lighting Survey Results

  • Ashley Martin provided an update on survey results.
  • Topics presented:
    • Survey sent to vendors; no responses received.
  • Discussion topics included:
    • Whether calls were made to vendors
    • Questions included in the survey
    • Survey created by a third-party vendor and sent from the City of Fate
    • Notifying vendors that they will receive a survey after the event

5. Celebrate Fate 2024 — New Vendors Update

  • Steve Gilbert presented an update regarding new vendors.
  • Topics presented:
    • City Council approval of beer and wine sales for Celebrate Fate
    • Sales to occur in a controlled area
    • Monitoring by DPS
    • Placement at the end of the food truck area
    • Development of an alcohol management plan
  • Discussion topics included:
    • Vendor supply to be provided by a TABC-licensed vendor
    • Preference for multiple vendors
    • Partnership with Fresh

6. 2024 Community Cleanup

  • Ashley Martin presented information regarding the 2024 Community Cleanup.
  • Topics presented:
    • Scheduled for Saturday, April 27
    • Blood drive included
    • Requirement for an adult to be present with children
    • Outreach to local schools for volunteers

7. Adjournment

  • Chairman King moved to adjourn the meeting.
  • Motion seconded by Board Member Shultz.
  • Vote:
    • Ayes: King, Harris, Brafman, Dominique, Ijagbemi, Shultz
    • Nays: None
  • Motion carried unanimously.
  • Meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
