Call to Order and Roll Call

Approval of Minutes (March 7, 2023)

  • Board Member Barry Brafman moved to approve the minutes from the March 7, 2023 meeting.
  • Board Member Lyndsay Sine seconded the motion.
  • Vote:
    • Ayes: Chairman King; Board Members Brafman, Harris, Sine, Dominique, Dennis
    • Nays: None
  • Motion carried unanimously.

Fate Station Park Update

  • Presentation provided by Ashley Martin, Community Services Coordinator.
  • Topics presented:
    • Checklist being completed
    • Playground equipment estimated to be delivered in June
    • Issued punch list
    • Project not substantially complete
    • Potential contractor penalties and daily fines
  • Board discussion included:
    • The term “substantially” as standard contract language
    • Possible clarification of contract language in future agreements

YMCA Soccer

  • Presentation provided by Ashley Martin, Community Services Coordinator.
  • Topics presented:
    • Spring tiny tot soccer game schedule
    • First soccer practice held the prior weekend
    • Games scheduled to begin April 22
    • City approached regarding potential summer sports programs, including t-ball and football
  • Board discussion included:
    • Field locations for t-ball and football
    • Use of soccer fields for football
    • Field preparation requirements for t-ball
    • Maintenance activities and budget considerations
    • Use of sport paint and irrigation on soccer fields
    • Age groups for potential summer programs
    • Whether fields would be permanent
  • Swimming summer program noted as still scheduled to proceed.

Planning of the Fate Community Cleanup

  • Presentation provided by Ashley Martin, Community Services Coordinator.
  • Topics presented:
    • Blood drive
    • Local business involvement
    • Prizes
    • Volunteers
    • Donations
    • Event scheduled for April 29
    • Donations received for water
  • Board discussion included:
    • Whether information would be updated on signage
    • Questions regarding prizes for the event
