Call to Order and Quorum

  • Mayor David Billings called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Resolution No. R-2024-029 — Canvassing Election Returns

  • Action taken to canvass election results for Council Member Places 1 and 5.
  • Motion made by Council Member Megyesi; seconded by Council Member Harper.
  • Vote: Unanimous approval.

Resolution No. R-2024-030 — Ordering Runoff Election

  • Determined no candidate received a majority for Council Member Place 1.
  • Runoff election ordered for June 15, 2024, between Cinnamon Krauss and Codi Chinn.
  • Motion made by Council Member Harper; seconded by Council Member Robbins.
  • Vote: Unanimous approval.

Oath of Office

  • City Secretary administered the statement and oath of office to Mark Hatley, Council Member Place 5.

  • Resolution No. R-2024-031 approving an interlocal agreement with Rockwall County for municipal judge services approved.
  • Ordinance No. O-2024-022 removed from consent agenda for separate consideration.
  • Consent agenda approved unanimously, excluding item 6C.

Ordinance No. O-2024-022 — Residential Rental Registration

  • Council discussed and approved increasing the residential rental registration fee to $150.
  • Ordinance approved unanimously.
